DISNEY CONSERVATION FUND

Celebrating the disney conservation fund


This campaign resulted in two videos: a 5 minute film for general distribution and live events, and the 60-second social media cutdown above.


The Disney Conservation Fund is a key pillar in Disney's Corporate Social Responsibility platform, and in their efforts to protect the planet and help children develop lifelong conservation values. As the company approached the Fund's 20th Anniversary, they asked us to help create a video campaign celebrating all that has been accomplished and charting the course for the future. We immediately began a research and discovery period to understand the key strategic messaging that needed to be included in the videos and then to design a creative concept that could do justice to the fund's impressive history, and to the legacy of Walt Disney himself.

Disney identified 10 programs around the world that they support, representing 10 endangered animals, that needed to be included in the video. All of the footage had to be original, and we needed to come up with a production plan that allowed our team to travel the world without going over budget. Our main goal was to focus the storytelling on the people and communities working so hard to protect the animals - while we wanted to show the wonder of the natural world, we never wanted to lose focus of the real people that Disney was supporting.

We visited 11 locations in 8 countries over the course of 6 months. The project required everything from swimming with sharks in the Bahamas, to hiking through the jungle in the Congo to find gorillas, to drone photography in the Brazilian rain forest.

The films were shared across Disney's social media footprint, at live events and screened for visitors at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
